Job summary

Sulzer Pumps (UK) Ltd. in Leeds is seeking a Test Engineer to own testing programmes for large-scale rotating equipment and pump packages.

You will lead testing activities, analyse performance data and collaborate with Engineering, Projects and Production teams to ensure top-quality results before products go to customers worldwide. The role requires an HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering and experience in a manufacturing/engineering/testing environment, with strong communication

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, testing or rotating equipment environment.
• Experience carrying out or supervising equipment testing.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.

• Monitor equipment reliability and performance to maximise operational effectiveness.
• Participate in project and assembly review meetings, providing technical expertise and guidance.

Due to an internal promotion, we're looking for a talented Test Engineer to join our high-performing team and play a key role in ensuring our world-class products perform flawlessly before they reach customers around the globe.

As a Test Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex testing programmes from initial preparation through to completion, working on large-scale rotating equipment and pump packages that are destined for some of the world's most demanding applications.

You'll lead testing activities, analyse performance data, solve technical challenges and work closely with Engineering, Projects and Production teams to ensure exceptional quality and performance.

You'll be trusted to identify issues, carry out root cause investigations and help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

You’ll be a practical and analytical engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a hands‑on environment.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• An HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, testing or rotating equipment environment.
• Previous experience carrying out or supervising equipment testing.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for engineering excellence.
