Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to grow our local customer base across your designated territory. This field-based role focuses on winning new business, building lasting trade partnerships and collaborating with depot teams to drive growth.

You will own your workload with autonomy, engaging trade customers from first contact, expanding our account base and delivering value through Howdens’ model and products.

Qualifications

• Track record of winning new business or working in a target-driven sales role.
• Confident engaging trade customers from first conversation.
• Self-motivated and resilient with a drive to succeed.
• Ability to build product and service knowledge in joinery and hardware.
• Strong organisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Win new business by proactively approaching prospective customers and converting opportunities into new accounts.
• Build and grow the account base across your territory, supporting each depot’s performance.
• Introduce new customers to the Howdens model, articulating how it works and why it delivers.
• Collaborate with depot teams to build account spend and drive more frequent trading.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with both new and existing account holders.
• Take ownership of customer enquiries, managing them from first contact to resolution.
• Participate in team meetings with insights and performance updates.
• Keep data accurate and up to date for visibility across activity and pipeline.
• Work safely and in line with Health & Safety standards.
