Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer for Stirling and surrounding areas. You will service, diagnose and repair Volvo construction equipment at customer sites, maintaining high uptime and delivering excellent service.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent, strong fault-finding ability, and a valid UK driving licence. You will work field-based across Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline and nearby areas, building trusted relationships with customers while

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant, with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics.
• Strong fault-finding and independent field-work capability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within your region.
• Work directly with customers to keep machines at maximum uptime.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and records in real time.
• Identify faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine systems.
