Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Field Service Engineer for Surgical Workflows, based in Derby, covering South West and Midlands. You will travel to customer sites, perform routine service, testing and calibration on Getinge devices, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes building strong customer relationships, accurate documentation, proactive problem solving, and collaboration with the Service Department to deliver reliable clinical workflows.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2 or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Experience as Field Service Engineer desirable, ideally within a medical industry.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of Mechanics, Electrics, Electronics and Hydraulics desirable.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a positive rapport with the customer with professional conduct at all times.
• Carry out mechanical servicing of equipment.
• Carry out routine testing of Getinge equipment per client contract standards.
• Fault-find electrical/mechanical issues on equipment.
• Calibrate equipment where necessary.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts and perform stock checks.
• Produce quality documentation for submission to the customer.
• Maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department.
• Ensure equipment is used safely and reported if out of calibration.
• Follow returns and non-conformance procedures.
• Organise and prioritise a changing workload to respond to calls.
• Ensure safe and tidy working conditions with PPE as required.
• Provide sales leads to Service/Sales Manager.
• Submit expense claims on time with supportive documentation.
