Anton Paar UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to maintain, calibrate and repair advanced analytical instruments at customer sites across the home counties and London. You will travel with the service team and support multiple industries with a broad portfolio of technologies.

Role requires strong field service experience, electronics aptitude, and the ability to interpret data. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC (or higher) in an Engineering discipline – Electronics preferred.
• Proven field service experience on complex analytic instrumentation at customer sites.
• Experience with systems using compressed gases and potentially hazardous substances.
• Able to interpret scientific data and resolve technical queries.
• Competent with standard electronic test equipment.
• Strong organisation and clear communication, IT literate with CRM experience.
• Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities per service standards.
• Diagnose and repair instruments at customer sites or in-house with detailed reports.
• Provide remote technical support via telephone and online channels.
• Collaborate with service team on large multi-instrument contracts; travel and overnight stays as needed.
• Maintain stock, replenish parts, and maximise first-time fix rates.
• Keep tooling and test equipment calibrated and in good condition.
• Record activities, communications and parts usage in the CRM.
• Identify sales leads during service visits.

Ideally based within 1 hour of Luton, you will deliver expert maintenance, calibration, and repair services to a varied customer base across the home counties and London with a bias toward the North of the region (Oxford, Milton Keynes, Cambridge). This is a varied and dynamic role working across multiple industries and supporting a broad portfolio of highly advanced analytical technologies. Full technical training will be provided to ensure your success.

Job Description

• Plan and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities in line with Anton Paar Corporate Service Standards, completing all required documentation accurately.
• Diagnose and execute instrument repairs at customer sites (or in-house where required), providing detailed service reports.
• Deliver remote technical support via telephone and online channels to customers and colleagues.
• Collaborate flexibly with the wider service team to support large, multi-instrument contracts, including travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Maintain car stock to KPI standards, ensuring efficient replenishment and maximising first-time fix rates.
• Keep all tooling and test equipment in full working and calibrated condition.
• Identify and generate sales leads for instruments and service opportunities during service visits.
• Accurately record service activities, communications, and parts usage within the CRM system.

Qualifications
