Demob Job Ltd is recruiting for a leading provider of specialist laboratory instrumentation across the UK. We seek a Field Service Engineer to join the team covering the Home Counties north of London, with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronic engineering background with a formal qualification (HNC or higher).
• Experience in field service or maintenance.
• Desirable: experience with laboratory instrumentation.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• Provide technical support on site and remotely.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain records.
• Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle stock levels.

I am recruiting for my client, a leading provider of specialist laboratory instrumentation supporting customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their established team, covering the Home Counties north of London. Please note this role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Candidates living in or close to Luton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Cambridge, Oxford, Watford, Aylesbury or Stevenage are of particular interest.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
• Provide technical support both on site and remotely.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle stock levels.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

• Electrical, electronic engineering or scientific background with a recognised qualification to a minimum of an HNC or higher qualification.
• Experience working in a field service or maintenance environment.
• Previous experience within laboratory instrumentation or similar is highly desirable.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• IT literate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Flexible approach with a willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.
