Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain, calibrate and repair specialist laboratory instrumentation across customer sites in the UK. The role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays, with a focus on building strong client relationships and delivering on-site and remote technical support.

Ideal candidates will have an electrical/electronic background and an HNC or higher qualification, plus field service experience.

Qualifications

• Electrical, electronic engineering or scientific background with a recognised qualification to a minimum of an HNC or higher qualification.
• Experience working in a field service or maintenance environment.
• Previous experience within laboratory instrumentation or similar is highly desirable.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• IT literate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Flexible approach with a willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
• Provide technical support both on site and remotely.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle stock levels.

I am recruiting for my client, a leading provider of specialist laboratory instrumentation supporting customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their established team, covering the Home Counties north of London. Please note this role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Candidates living in or close to Luton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Cambridge, Oxford, Watford, Aylesbury or Stevenage are of particular interest.
