Job summary

Taylorollinson is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the UK. The role is field-based with a home-office base and about one day weekly in the East Midlands office. You will install, commission and support lab instrumentation, with a £40,000 salary plus a company car.

You will train customers, perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, and identify sales leads while travelling across sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining, supporting and installing electro-mechanical lab systems.
• Knowledge of temperature control systems is a plus.
• Good customer communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of PLC programming is desirable.
• Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission instrumentation at customer sites.
• Train end-users and support system setup and optimisation.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, calibration and routine service.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting.
• Compile method statements and risk assessments.
• Identify potential leads and pass to Sales team.

Our client is recognised as global experts in their field and support customers within a wide range of industries from pharma/drug discovery, chemicals, automotive, food, pharmacy and academia.

The Service Engineer is a key customer facing part of this approach. The role is field based but with ~1 day a week in the office. It requires good interpersonal skills; a flexible approach and strong electromechanical skills with lab instrumentation:

• installation and commissioning instrumentation at customer sites
• training end-users and support in system set-up and optimisation
• Preventative maintenance, calibration and routine service
• Technical support and troubleshooting
• compiling method statements and risk assessments
• Identify and pass on potential leads to the Sales team

About you:

• qualification and experience in maintenance, support and installing electro-mechanical based lab systems
• Ideally a knowledge of temperature control systems
