Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Transformers business. You will execute service strategies, deliver high-quality, cost-effective offerings, and support installation, maintenance and refurbishment of large power transformers across the UK.

This highly-mobile, field-based role requires extensive travel, overnight stays and occasional weekend work. You will work with a team of experienced engineers and technicians to ensure safety, quality and customer

Qualifications

• Experience installing, assembling, commissioning, maintaining or repairing large industrial equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and procedures.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the UK.
• Site safety qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, CCNSG, CSCS or equivalent are beneficial, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise service activities on customer sites with a focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support installation, assembly and commissioning of large power transformers and associated equipment.
• Lead site activities from start to finish under the Project Manager’s direction.
• Maintain project site documentation, quality records and service reports.
• Travel extensively across the UK with overnight stays and weekend work as required.
• Assist with oil handling, testing and routine maintenance per approved procedures.
