Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Service business in the UK. You will lead engineering activities across HV, switchgear and transformer projects, coordinating design, customers, and suppliers, and delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role involves occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and Europe, across manufacturing and engineering facilities for reviews and workshops. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level engineering qualification or equivalent.
Experience delivering electrical/industrial projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of RAMS, testing plans, and installation methods.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical and engineering aspects from concept to handover.
Deliver high-quality engineering solutions meeting requirements and standards.
Provide proactive technical leadership to ensure project execution and customer satisfaction.
Lead design reviews, technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Review RAMS, test plans, installation approaches, and tender documents.
Conduct site surveys to support delivery and identify improvements.
Translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions and manage technical interfaces.
