Briggs Equipment in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our UK team. You will attend customer sites, diagnose faults, repair and service lifting equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and manufacturer standards.

The role requires the ability to work independently under pressure, manage parts and time, and communicate costs and timelines clearly to customers. We offer development opportunities, a pension, and a profit-sharing scheme.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principles
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong workload prioritisation and customer needs understanding

Responsibilities

• Attend customer locations to assess work scope and priorities, ensuring safety.
• Liaise on timescales and costs with controller and customer from outset and during progress.
• Identify root causes of breakdowns and obtain correct parts cost-effectively.
• Ensure work complies with engineering standards and manufacturer specs.
• Inspect work and verify equipment safety before handing back.
• Identify further work and communicate costs to the customer.
• Complete job and service documentation with required signatures.
