Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service a wide range of plant machinery at customer sites in Northamptonshire. You will commission and diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and work safely and to high standards.

You will operate independently from a modern service fleet, maintain strong customer relationships and pursue ongoing training to stay current with equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Understanding of mechanical machinery and forklift trucks.
• Strong numeracy and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clear, confident communication and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Commission, maintain and service equipment and plant machinery.
• Repair, maintain and service forklift trucks.
• Diagnose faults and replace defective parts.
• Request parts via PDA and work from scheduled jobs.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships; follow safety policies.
• Pursue ongoing personal development and training as required.
