Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover North and North West London. This field-based role involves servicing, diagnostics and repairs on Volvo construction equipment across Watford, Enfield and surrounding areas.

A strong background in plant maintenance and HGV/industrial machinery is required. You will work independently within your territory, ensuring machines stay operational and meet high safety and reliability standards while building customer relationships and delivering

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in field-based environments.

Responsibilities

Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment within the designated territory.
Identify and resolve faults across diesel, hydraulic, electrical and engine systems using diagnostic equipment.
Act as primary point of contact for customers, updating on machine status and recommended actions.
Complete all job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets and electronic records accurately and in real time.
Maintain high safety, professionalism, housekeeping and compliance with company policies.
