Job summary

Anton Paar Ltd in Scotland seeks a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Scotland and the North of England, delivering maintenance, calibration and repair services on advanced analytical instruments. The role requires visiting customer sites, occasional overnight stays, and flexible travel.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose repairs, provide remote support, and document activities in the CRM, with a base salary and a company/performance bonus.

Qualifications

• HNC (or higher) in engineering, electronics preferred.
• Proven field service experience on complex analytical instrumentation.
• Experience with systems using compressed gases and potentially hazardous substances.
• Ability to interpret scientific/analytical data and resolve customer queries.
• Competence with standard electronic test equipment.
• Strong organisational and written and verbal communication skills.
• IT literate; experience with CRM; proficient in MS Office.
• Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities in line with service standards and complete all required documentation.
• Diagnose and repair instruments at customer sites or in-house, with detailed service reports.
• Provide remote technical support via telephone and online channels.
• Collaborate with the service team on large contracts, including travel and overnight stays.
• Maintain car stock to KPI standards and ensure first-time fix rates.
• Keep tooling and test equipment calibrated and in good condition.
• Identify sales opportunities during service visits and record activities in the CRM.
