Job summary

Wynne Consulting is seeking a field service engineer to diagnose and repair CNC and industrial equipment at customer sites across the UK and Ireland. You will install, commission and maintain products, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 4+ years of field service experience, strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and the ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' field service experience in CNC/machine tool or industrial equipment sectors.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on customer sites.
• Install, commission, service and maintain products.
• Resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software issues.
• Perform inspections, geometry checks and component replacements.
• Liaise with internal teams to source parts and resolve faults.
• Train customers in operation, maintenance and safety.

Job description

• Minimum of 4 years' field service experience within the CNC machine tool or industrial equipment sector role.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Customer-focused, self-motivated and able to work independently.

You may be required to

• Support wider operational initiatives as required.
• Support internal projects and implementation activities.
• Travel to customer sites and offices in the UK and overseas as required.

Your core tasks will include

• Diagnose and repair faults on company products at customer sites.
• Install, commission, service and maintain products
• Resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and software related issues.
• Complete inspections, adjustments, geometry checks and component replacements.
• Liaise with internal teams to source parts and resolve complex faults.
• Train customers in product operation, maintenance and safety.
• Work flexibly and travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays, occasional out-of-hours work and overseas travel.
• Contribute to utilisation, service revenue and customer satisfaction KPIs.
• Support continuous improvement and wider operational initiatives.
• Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required by the Service Manager.
