Job summary

ASC Connections Ltd is seeking a Service Engineer to support CNC machinery across the Cambridge area, performing breakdown repairs, on-site installation, and routine service to maintain peak performance. You will ensure high standards of machine performance and contribute to industry-leading service delivery.

The role requires experience with electrical or mechanical breakdowns, Siemens or FANUC controls, and a willingness to travel including overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical or mechanical breakdowns.
• Experience with Siemens or FANUC controls.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes.
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding.
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors.
• Machine levelling and alignments.
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site.
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting.
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site.

Service Engineer responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors
• Machine levelling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Service Engineer requirements

• Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
• Experience of working with either Siemens or FANUC controls
• Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
• Willingness to travel and be prepared to stay overnight when required
