Job summary

Optima UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain CNC machine tools at customer sites. The role covers planned servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs with a focus on delivering a professional service and strong customer relationships.

The successful candidate will be based in Greater Manchester with travel across the North of England and occasionally the UK and Ireland. Training and career development are on offer in a growing engineering business.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Based within the Greater Manchester area, with the ability to travel to customer sites across the North of England and occasionally throughout the UK and Ireland.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving.
• Good knowledge of CNC turning and milling machine tools.
• Previous experience servicing or maintaining CNC machine tools is desirable.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Heidenhain CNC controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing a professional service at all times.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
• Complete service documentation accurately and communicate technical information internally in line with company quality processes.
