Job summary

ASC Connections Ltd. is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to support customers across the UK, maintaining CNC machining centres, automation systems, and digital tooling.

The role requires hands-on electrical or mechanical breakdowns, experience with Siemens or FANUC controls, and willingness to travel nationwide, including overnight stays. A strong focus on fault-finding and customer service is essential for delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Experience with breakdowns of CNC machinery (electrical or mechanical).
• Hands-on experience with Siemens or FANUC controls.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics abilities.
• Willingness to travel nationally and stay overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes, and turning centres.
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding.
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors.
• Machine levelling and alignments.
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site.
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting.
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site.

Service Engineer responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes, and turning centres
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors
• Machine levelling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Service Engineer requirements

• Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
• Experience of working with either Siemens or FANUC controls
• Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
• Willingness to travel nationally and be prepared to stay overnight when required
