Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover Swindon and surrounding area. You will install, commission, service and repair complex laboratory and diagnostic instrumentation at customer sites.

Working independently, you will ensure equipment uptime, deliver technical support, and build strong relationships with customers and internal teams. A 3+ year background in field service engineering and a solid electro-mechanical skillset are essential.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC, HND or City & Guilds).
  • Minimum 3 years field service engineering experience.
  • Strong electro-mechanical and electronic fault-finding skills.
  • Experience installing, servicing and maintaining complex equipment.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and networked environments.
  • Experience working with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and device connectivity troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and commissioning instrumentation at customer sites.
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities to planned schedules.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical, electronic and software-related faults.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity and system integration issues.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of complex laboratory and diagnostic instrumentation. Working independently, you will ensure equipment operates reliably while delivering a high standard of technical support and customer service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 3 years of field service engineering experience.
  • Strong electro-mechanical and electronic fault-finding skills.
  • Experience installing, servicing and maintaining complex equipment.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and networked environments.
  • Experience working with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and device connectivity troubleshooting.
  • The ability to diagnose both hardware and software-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • A proactive and independent approach to problem solving.
