About the Role:

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Stirling depot, covering North East Scotland.

What you will be doing:

  • Service and repair Volvo construction equipment and related machinery.
  • Identify mechanical issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools, advising customers accordingly.
  • Seek additional revenue opportunities and promote aftermarket solutions.
  • Work within quotations and time guides, notifying management of additional work needs.
  • Install software updates as released.
  • Complete electronic reports, tablet inputs, and timesheets in real-time with detailed work descriptions.
  • Order and return parts as necessary, maintaining parts in a clean condition.
  • Work overtime and respond to call-out requests as needed.
  • Attend relevant training courses.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics, or related discipline (e.g., NVQ 3/C&G).
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment, with technical competence in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrics.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a good understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and EATS.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, management, and customers.
  • Cost-conscious mindset to maximize profitability.
  • Problem-solving skills and high diagnostic capability.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Responsibility, reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to understand technical literature and systems.
  • Located within 20 miles of Aberdeen.
Desirable:
  • Experience in Welding and Fabrication.
