Job summary

ASC Connections in Cambridge, United Kingdom, is seeking a Service Engineer to maintain and repair CNC machinery, including multi-axis mills and lathes. You will install, commission, and service equipment on site, with remote support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC machines (multi-axis mills and lathes).
• Routine service and inspections; fault-finding.
• Repair ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors.
• Machine levelling and alignments.
• Installation and commissioning on site.
• Order replacement parts; retrofit.
• Provide end-user training and remote/on-site support.

Service Engineer responsibilities:

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines, including multi-axis Mills and Lathes
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault-finding
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and motors
• Machine levelling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Service Engineer requirements:

• Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
• Experience of working with either Siemens or FANUC controls
• Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
• Willingness to travel and be prepared to stay overnight when required
