Shillito Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair CNC and machine tool equipment across aerospace, automotive, defence and precision engineering sectors.

The role involves attending breakdowns, carrying out servicing, commissioning of new equipment, and supporting installation, with regular international travel required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Field Engineer.
• Strong fault finding experience across Electrical and Mechanical systems.
• Confident solving breakdowns independently.
• Some exposure to PLC fault finding is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carry out servicing, repairs and planned maintenance.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Work on automated machinery including electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of CNC and machine tool equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair.
• Support customers in aerospace, automotive, precision engineering, and manufacturing environments.
• Work with PLCs and fault finding.

Description:

An excellent opportunity for a motivated Field Service Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a highly established machine tool specialist supporting blue-chip customers across aerospace, automotive, defence, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

This role requires regular International and European travel.

The Role:

• Attending breakdowns and diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults


• Carrying out servicing, repairs and planned maintenance


• Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment


• Working on automated machinery including electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics


• Installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of CNC and machine tool equipment


• Electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair


• Supporting customers within aerospace, automotive, precision engineering, and manufacturing environments


• PLCs and fault finding

Person:

• Experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Field Engineer


• Strong fault finding experience across Electrical and Mechanical systems


• Confident working on breakdowns and solving problems independently


• Some exposure to PLC fault finding is highly desirable


• Experience with automated machinery, CNC, robotics or similar equipment


• Comfortable reading technical drawings and working methodically
