Job description

Are you ready to be part of one of the fastest growing wholesale and retail companies and contribute to their continued success and growth?

Do you have strong retail sales experience?

Can you work independently within your own area while being part of the Sales and Head Office Team?

Join this established wholesale company that has recently secured a major new client with over 100 stores.

You will be part of a team of 3 covering the East Anglia area, managing your own client list and territory.

Role Overview

You will seek out new opportunities by prospecting new clients, developing new business, and expanding existing accounts throughout East Anglia. This includes journey planning, tracking sales, and managing territory budgets and KPIs.

You will have a diverse existing client base, including independent retailers, small convenience stores, petrol stations, national retailers, and occasionally nightclubs. Your goal is to develop and maintain effective working relationships to grow your client base.

Your Area and Location

The role is home-based, ideally in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, or Cambridge, covering the entire East Anglia region. Overnight stays may be required, with hotel and meal allowances provided. You will plan your sales routes to maximize opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain exceptional consultative relationships with existing clients to maximize retention and brand awareness.
  • Generate sales by prospecting new customers, assessing their needs, and effectively selling products and services.
  • Build positive, long-lasting relationships with customers both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and follow up promptly with prospects.
  • Conduct well-planned client meetings and presentations.
  • Meet KPIs and targets to achieve financial goals.
  • Prepare and deliver quotations to customers.
  • Keep detailed records of sales figures, financial reports, and customer data.
  • Collaborate with other Business Development Managers to share best practices and sales insights.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, developments, and competitors.

  • Proven success in managing sales funnels and converting leads into sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and Excel skills.
  • Results-driven, persistent, and self-motivated.
