Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent is a technology company that supports critical infrastructure, including transportation and communication systems. We are recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning activities in designated areas such as the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

The role involves working with a supportive team, using your initiative to solve problems in the field, and ensuring the delivery of maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works to keep the nation's infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables.
• Completing equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets.
• Performing maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing documentation related to tasks promptly.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with fault-finding and testing skills in fibre or copper environments. Experience working on motorway communications or related systems, knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing, and a full UK driving license are essential. The role may require overtime or callouts.
