Job summary

Davies is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support motor claims management across the UK. You will inspect vehicles, value repairs, and negotiate repair costs while guiding customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role involves producing detailed engineering reports, managing total loss settlements, and applying salvage knowledge across a range of vehicle types. This is a field-based position with flexible collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation.
• Experience using estimating systems (Audatex, GT Motive, Glass’s).
• Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including cars, HGVs, agricultural machinery, caravans.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills.

Field Engineer

Hours: 08:30 – 17:00

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in motor engineering and claims. This role requires expertise in vehicle inspection, repair cost negotiation, and claims management, supporting both customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, providing valuations, and managing total loss settlements across a wide variety of vehicle types.
