Job summary

Gi Group is hiring Meter Readers in your postcode now. This full-time outdoor role involves collecting data from gas, electricity, and water meters for commercial and residential properties, updating reads on a handheld device, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will work 40–45 hours weekly with flexible start/finish times, training provided, a company car, pension enrollment, and opportunities for progression. No prior experience required; uniforms and PPE supplied.

Qualifications

• Previous Customer Service experience (preferred not essential)
• Must have a UK driving licence (minimum 1 year, points 6 max)
• Physically fit and able to bend, lift, kneel, and walk 4–5 miles daily
• Clear DBS check (no unspent convictions)
• Credit history disclosure checks where applicable

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial meters for Water, Gas and Electric with full training provided
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment at sites
• Enter reads on handheld device and maintain accurate records
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and adhere to safety guidelines
