Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Maintenance Operative in Wigan. The role requires a valid UK driving licence and involves general maintenance across a portfolio of properties.

You will report faults via the AORA system and ensure compliance with safety and contract standards. Responsibilities include conducting maintenance, reporting and closing faults, following risk assessments, and handling waste and garden tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• General DIY experience.
• A willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential).

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance services to designated properties.
• Report faults using the AORA IT system and ensure faults are reported and closed.
• Ensure properties are compliant and fit for purpose when completing tasks.
• Follow risk assessments and method statements for all works.
• Repair Serco-supplied furniture or arrange replacements to meet Home Office contract.
• Purchase materials from approved Serco suppliers and keep receipts.
