Job summary

Serco is seeking a Maintenance Operative to service asylum accommodation sites across Wigan region with a focus on joinery, plumbing, painting and decorating. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) with a salary £27,500–£33,500, vehicle and tools provided, and 25 days leave plus bank holidays.

A valid UK driving licence is essential, and you will work under Serco’s health and safety standards. You will manage repairs, order materials, and ensure work is completed to SLA targets, often travelling

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting and decorating.
• Experience with health and safety practices on site.
• Ability to manage own workload and work in a team when required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and pre-planned repairs to required standards and SLAs.
• Purchase and manage materials using company account cards from approved Serco suppliers.
• Maintain vehicles and tools provided by the company in a professional condition.
