Job summary

NatCen is seeking Field Interviewers in Oxford to carry out in-home research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. The role is part-time and travel-based, with full training provided and a focus on listening and building trust with participants.

You’ll visit homes across the assigned area, guide conversations using a NatCen device, and record responses accurately. A driving license and access to a car are required for travel between interviews.

Qualifications

• No formal research experience required, but excellent communication and listening skills are essential.
• Ability to stay professional and respectful when interviewing participants.
• Comfort with independent fieldwork, travel and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Visit addresses within an assigned area to conduct in-home interviews.
• Use NatCen device to guide structured interviews and record responses accurately.
• Travel as required; manage route planning and time to maximize efficiency.
