Job summary

Thames Water seeks an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician for the Home Counties Pumping Team in Esher. The role is mobile, covering 200+ pumping stations across Surrey and West Sussex, with supervision as needed.

You’ll work safely to maintain asset availability, use SCADA and PLCs, and provide technical support and training. A full UK driving licence is required and base location is Esher Sewage Treatment Work.

Qualifications

• Ideally HNC or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• Strong electrical background with BS7671 18th edition awareness.
• Experience with relay logic, PLCs and process control networks.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair wastewater assets.
• Work with SCADA systems and PLCs for control and monitoring.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers; supervise where required.
• Investigate asset failures and implement rapid repairs.
