Job summary
Thames Water is seeking an Instrumentation, Controls & Automation Technician to cover a mobile patch across Surrey and West Sussex, maintaining over 200 pumping stations. This full-time role requires safe, unsupervised work and adherence to statutory duties, with a salary up to £57,000.
The successful candidate will have strong electrical, instrumentation and automation skills, a full UK driving licence, and experience with PLCs/SCADA; base location Esher; 38 hours Mon-Fri plus standby and
Qualifications
- Qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
- 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
- Strong electrical background with instrumentation and automation experience.
- Ability to read fault-finding from circuit diagrams and work with inverter drives.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets including level instrumentation and flow meters.
- Work with SCADA systems, PLCs and process control networks.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers as needed.
- Investigate asset failures and perform timely repairs to avoid water-supply interruptions.
