Job summary

Verelogic Recruitment is seeking a Service & Maintenance Engineer to service fire and security systems across Manchester. This field-based role focuses on preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs and minor quoted works, ensuring systems stay compliant with British Standards and manufacturer requirements.

You will diagnose faults, perform testing, complete service reports and liaise with customers. The ideal candidate has 2+ years' experience, knowledge of BS 5839, EN standards, and

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems.
• Experience with Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards, including BS 5839, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133, BS EN 50131.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Good understanding of networking and IP-based systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues and other trades.
• </br> Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs on fire and security systems, including Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms.
• Diagnose system faults and complete effective repairs to minimise downtime for customers.
• Test, inspect and verify system performance in line with relevant British Standards and manufacturer requirements.
• Complete routine system testing, inspections and minor system modifications.
• Liaise directly with customers, explaining findings and providing technical advice where required.
• Carry out remedial works and minor system improvements.
• Complete accurate service reports, maintenance records, certificates and compliance documentation.
• Work closely with service coordinators, project managers and other internal teams to manage workloads.
