Job summary

Verelogic is seeking a Service & Maintenance Engineer to cover commercial and industrial sites across Scotland. This field‑based role focuses on servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and minor quoted works of fire and security systems.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, test and verify performance to standards, liaise with customers, and support colleagues across the service team. A UK driving licence and strong fault‑finding skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems.
• Experience with Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Good understanding of networking/IP-based systems.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain security vetting (NPPV2).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs on fire and security systems (Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms).
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Test and verify system performance against British Standards and manufacturer requirements.
• Complete routine testing, inspections and minor system modifications.
• Liaise with customers, explain findings and provide technical advice.
• Maintain accurate service reports, certificates and compliance documentation.
• Work with service coordinators and project managers to prioritise workloads.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and maintain tools and vehicles.
• Support and mentor trainees and junior engineers; participate in on-call rota.
