Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an Environmental Services Officer to join the Street Scene & Regulations Services. The role requires pest control expertise, a clean driving licence, and willingness to work in varied, sometimes unpleasant conditions.

A fully equipped van and IT tools are provided, with CPD training available. This field-based post offers flexible working options, 25 days holiday rising to 30, and membership of a generous pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Must hold the Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 certificate or equivalent (BPCA Level 2).
• Full clean driving licence.
• Experience in pest control and environmental duties.
• Good IT/computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledge and advice for pest control to the Council and private sector.
• Undertake clearance/disinfection of noxious or contaminated areas, faeces and sharps.
• Flexibly work outside normal hours and in challenging conditions.
• Move and lift heavy items as required.
