Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a proactive Environmental Services operative to join our frontline team in Sheffield. You will undertake property clearances, respond to environmental incidents, clean and disinfect contaminated areas, and manage vegetation in public, domestic and commercial settings.

The role requires physical fitness, outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Qualifications

About The Role

The successful candidate will undertake a varied and rewarding range of duties, including:

• Internal and external property clearances.
• Responding to environmental incidents including fly-tipping, illegally dumped commercial and household waste, animal carcasses, sharps and other hazardous materials.
• Cleaning, cleansing and disinfection of contaminated, verminous and noxious premises and articles.
• Vegetation reduction and removal in public, domestic and commercial settings.
• Accurately recording information and completing work records using mobile technology.
• Driving Council vehicles and undertaking daily vehicle safety checks in accordance with established procedures.
• 37 Hours per Week | Full Time

About You

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
