Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Maintenance Technician (electrical bias) in Newport. You will join a field-based team handling planned maintenance, improvements and fault response across the Welsh Water asset base, ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

The role requires an electrical apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, a valid driving licence, teamwork and problem analysis, plus strong communication. Daily IT updates and contractor liaison are expected.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in electrical or dual skilled engineering with NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent
• Full driving licence required
• Experience working in a team
• Able to analyse information to spot problems

Responsibilities

• Work in a field-based team on planned maintenance and improvements for Welsh Water assets
• Investigate plant failures and carry out scheduled maintenance to minimise breakdowns
• Carry out installations, refurbishments and assist commissioning to specification
• Audit spares and materials and order items via supervisor or supplier
• Follow health & safety procedures and maintain duty of care to colleagues
