Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Cyf is hiring a Maintenance Technician (electrical bias) to join a field-based team servicing Welsh Water assets across the region. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, install and commission equipment, manage spares, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies while building strong internal networks.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent, a driving licence, good communication, and the ability to work to tight deadlines within a

Qualifications

• A recognised apprenticeship in electrical or dual skilled engineering awarded with an NVQ Level 3 qualification or City & Guilds equivalent
• Full driving licence
• Experience of working in a team
• Experience of analysing information to spot potential problems
• Practical industry experience to support your apprenticeship and ensure full compliance with H&S procedures
• Able to communicate well, listen and respond to solve problems
• Able to build and maintain good networks with internal departments
• Able to work to tight deadlines, sometimes in difficult circumstances
• Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and NRW
• Able to use Microsoft software packages and other operational systems

Responsibilities

• Work on planned activities for Welsh Water assets including improvement projects and preventative maintenance
• Investigate plant failures and carry out scheduled maintenance on equipment
• Carry out like-for-like installations, refurbishments and assist with commissioning
• Audit spares and order items via supervisor or suppliers
• Follow health and safety procedures and duty of care
• Liaise with outside contractors on capital schemes
• Organise your time with minimum supervision
• Update information in IT systems daily
• Contribute to protecting customer health and the environment
