Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) for field-based work across the South East Hub. You will handle planned maintenance, installations, and respond to asset failures to keep water services reliable.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 mechanical apprenticeship or City & Guilds equivalent, a full driving licence, teamwork, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. You will join a safety-conscious workforce with opportunities for progression and training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship or City & Guilds equivalent in mechanical/dual skilled engineering.
• Full driving licence.
• Experience of working in a team.
• Experience of analysing information to spot potential problems.
• Able to communicate well and build networks with internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Work on planned activities for Welsh Water assets, including improvements and maintenance, and respond to failures.
• Investigate plant failures and perform scheduled maintenance to minimise breakdowns.
• Carry out like-for-like installations, refurbishments and assist with commissioning to specification, on time and to procedures.
• Audit spares and materials required, order items via supervisor or suppliers.
• Follow health & safety procedures and ensure safety for yourself and colleagues.
