Job summary

FirstPort is recruiting a Relief Development Manager to cover a portfolio of properties across Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire. The role is field-based with a flexible, site-visiting schedule and requires a full driving licence and own vehicle.

You will oversee safety checks, contractor management, community engagement, and resident support across multiple sites, ensuring compliance and high service standards. The position offers hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service—passion for exceptional service, ideally in person.
• Strong communication to resolve issues and manage complaints.
• Understanding of health and safety and ability to handle emergencies.
• Able to operate Microsoft Office applications and learn new systems.
• Organised, methodical with accurate record-keeping.
• Outgoing, proactive, team-oriented and relationship-builder.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around developments/offices and check residents per policy.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Carry out daily safety checks and manage contractors to keep areas clean and maintained.
• Oversee works, raise orders, monitor progress and sign off completed tasks.
• Encourage Residents Association and enhance the resident experience.
• Support a Social Committee to plan and run community events.
• Maintain links with residents’ families and local authorities as required.
• Keep records in line with procedures and protect data securely.
• Assist with sales through Retirement Homesearch and welcome new residents where possible.
• Travel to team meetings monthly/annually as needed.
