Cotswold Archaeology in Needham Market (office relocating to Stowmarket in November) is seeking Archaeologists for fixed-term six-month contracts. Salary £28,532 - £29,255, with rostered away work where accommodation is provided.

You will undertake archaeological field investigations, including manual excavation and recording, plus artefact recovery and data management. Opportunities to accrue lieu time and overtime are available.

Formación

• Knowledge of archaeological practice.
• Experience in commercial archaeology.
• Ability to deal courteously with clients, officers of other bodies and the public.
• Ability to create and maintain accurate administrative records.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake away work when required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist fieldwork: excavation, evaluation, finds processing, data entry and archiving.
• Record data using pro-forma sheets, drawings and photographs.
• Recover artefacts and environmental samples per procedures.
• Carry out manual excavation of features with diverse tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of archaeological periods and practice.
• Assist in training Trainee Archaeologists.
• Work in line with CA Health and Safety policies.
