Job summary

Cotswold Archaeology in Milton Keynes invites applications from experienced Archaeologists. The role covers fieldwork, recording, and artefact recovery on commercial sites; away work with accommodation is possible.

Salary £28,532 - £29,255 per year; six-month fixed-term contracts. 37.5-hour week, with a generous benefits package including pension, life insurance, CSCS support, and relocation of away projects where needed.

Qualifications

• Core skills include manual excavation, recording features and artefacts.
• Experience in commercial archaeology and data entry to CA procedures.
• Ability to work to deadlines and undertake away work when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist fieldwork including fieldwalking, evaluation, excavation, finds processing, data entry and archiving.
• Accurately record investigation data using pro-forma sheets, registers, drawings and photographs.
• Recover artefacts and environmental samples following CA procedures and standards.
• Carry out manual excavation of features with a range of tools.
• Maintain accurate administrative records and assist in trainee training.
• Follow CA Health and Safety policies and participate in mandatory training.
