Job summary

Northern Case Management is seeking a Female Support Worker to assist a young girl with cerebral palsy in her home, school and community in St Helens. A genuine occupational requirement means only female applicants will be considered, and a full UK driving licence is essential.

You will join a dedicated team, receive comprehensive training and supervision, and play a key role in promoting wellbeing, safety and participation in daily activities and community routines.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience with neurological conditions and community work is preferred.
• Experience with clients with complex needs is desirable.
• Able to work in a team and individually.
• Confident in handling challenging situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with commitment to self-management.
• IT literate; use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Flexible, professional and positive approach to multi-site working.
• Reliable with attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a trusting, therapeutic, working relationship with client, family & Case Manager.
• Promote effective communication with all parties.
• Support the client in line with the Care Plan guidelines.
• Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
• Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse.
• Liaise with other agencies when required.
• Attend training sessions as arranged.
• Complete daily records as advised including; time sheets, daily records, care plan summary and critical incidents, petty cash etc.
• Attend supervision, team meetings and other meetings with the employer and other persons as nominated by the employer.
• Support the client to attend and participate in a range of community activities.
• Carry out therapy practise sessions as advised by treating professionals.
• Support the client to attend hydrotherapy if required.
