Job summary

Active Care Group is seeking experienced Female Support Workers to join our Northern Case Management client support teams. You will provide dedicated, person-centred care for a young client with acquired neurological damage in home and community settings, including school and transport support.

You will work a mix of waking days, nights and sleeps with a 2:1 day ratio and 1:1 nights, requiring commitment, empathy and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Cover 24/7 hours in rotation, including holidays and sickness periods.
• Promote and maintain independence for an individual with complex care needs.
• Develop skills while delivering care in client’s home or family home.
• Undertake a range of duties to support the client and work with the care team.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet high standards of health care.
• Demonstrate reliability, integrity and trustworthiness.

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced *Female Support Worker to join our friendly Northern Case Management client support teams, who are passionate about providing a non-discriminatory service to people with acquired neurological damage i.e. brain and spinal cord injury for both children and adults of all ages in a domiciliary setting. Our goal is to empower them to develop their full potential and enrich their lifestyle through providing a comprehensive client focused service!

Candidate must hold a full UK Driving Licence, and be a none smoker/vaper. *Please note we are recruiting Female Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9

Meet our amazing client:

I am a little girl looking for fun loving caring support staff to join my lovely team. I suffered a brain injury at birth. I am highly dependent, requiring full assistance with personal care and activities of daily living. I am Nil-By-Mouth and have a gastrostomy for all of my nutrition, medication and hydration needs. I have a permanent tracheostomy, which requires regular suctioning. I also have epilepsy which is controlled. I attend specialist education, and my support workers accompany me to school, and I get out in the community with my adapted vehicle, which I love. I live with my family in a rented accommodation in Cheshire, I will move to my forever home in the near future. I will eventually live at two locations as my parents will have shared custody of me. You will be required to work from both sites. I have a 24-hour care package required at a ratio of 2:1 during the day and 1:1 wake carer at night, and I have 8 team members at the moment.

What you'll be working:

• Full Time or Part Time
• Bank Hours
• Waking Night, Day Shifts and Sleep night Shifts
• 12 hour shift 8am - 8pm
• 12-hour shifts - 8pm - 8am
• Salary Weekday £14.42 per hour
• Salary Weekend £15.97 per hour
• Sleeps- £114.39 per night

What you'll be doing:

• Carers will be expected to cover all hours (24/7) in rotation and holidays and sickness periods of other care team members.
• Motivated and enthusiastic females are required, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for an individual with complex care needs.
• You will have the opportunity to develop your skills while delivering care to an individual in their own/family home.
• Undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, you will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of health care.
• The post requires that you work independently and as part of a team, to a great extent.
• The post therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer.
• Reliability, integrity, and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.

What you'll have:

• A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible.
• Previous health care experience of working with an individual with complex needs which is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Candidate must hold a full UK Driving Licence, and be a none smoker/vaper.
• Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
