Job summary

SENCO - Further Education College in Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead the strategic and day‑to‑day delivery of SEND support across the college, ensuring learners with additional needs receive the appropriate provision.

You will lead the SEND / Learning Support team, manage EHCP consultations and reviews, coordinate with local authorities and external agencies, promote inclusive teaching, monitor learner outcomes and oversee SEND funding.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SENCO or SEND leader in a Further Education College.
• Strong knowledge of EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience working with local authorities and external agencies.
• DfE-approved SENCO qualification (NASENCO) and teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the FE College.
• Lead on EHCP consultations, annual reviews and placements.
• Work closely with local authorities, families and external agencies.
• Liaise with curriculum teams to support inclusive teaching.
• Advise on reasonable adjustments and SEND legislation.
• Lead, support and develop the SEND / Support for Learning team.
• Monitor learner support, progress and outcomes.
• Oversee specialist agencies and individual learner provision.
• Manage SEND funding and high-needs processes.
• Lead staff training and promote inclusive teaching practice.
• Monitor and improve the quality of SEND provision.
