Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a proactive Shift Manager for the River Island operation in Milton Keynes. You will lead a busy warehouse team, drive service levels, and own shift performance with focus on continuous improvement and colleague engagement.

The role offers a fixed shift pattern (4 on, 3 off; then 3 on, 4 off) and hours 14:00–02:00, with a salary up to £45,000 per year, plus benefits including pension, private medical & dental, GP access, life assurance and more.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within a fast-paced logistics, warehousing or operational environment.
• Strong communication skills to influence, motivate and engage teams at all levels.
• Proven ability to analyse performance data and make effective operational decisions.
• A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach with a focus on delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate operational teams to deliver exceptional service and achieve KPI targets.
• Manage daily resource planning, headcount allocation and operational performance across the shift.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and productivity.
• Promote a positive, inclusive culture through coaching, engagement, recognition and development of colleagues.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental standards and operational procedures.
