Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. seeks a passionate Primary Teacher (qualified or unqualified) for a temp-to-perm role at an innovative Alternative Provision on a working farm in Clitheroe. You will deliver the primary curriculum to KS1/KS2 pupils with SEMH needs in a farm setting.

Deliver engaging lessons, plan outdoor activities, and build trusting relationships with vulnerable children. DBS required; own transport recommended due to rural location. Term-time schedule with PAYE pay.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience as an Unqualified Teacher/HLTA with primary teaching experience.
• Experience with KS1/KS2 and SEMH/AP/SEND settings is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and engage in outdoor, animal-assisted learning.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to process.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging primary lessons using the farm environment to teach literacy, numeracy, science and life skills.
• Plan practical activities integrating outdoor learning, animal care and countryside crafts.
• Build trusting relationships with vulnerable children to support confidence and love for learning.
• Manage small classes (4–6 pupils) with Learning Support Assistants.
• Apply trauma-informed practices and positive behaviour management.
• Transition from temp-to-perm to a permanent role.
