Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Term Time Only)

Step Outside the Four Walls: Be Part of Something Special

Are you tired of routine classroom constraints, endless paperwork, and rigid desk‑bound timetables? Do you believe that some of the most powerful learning happens with wellies on, fresh air in your lungs, and animals by your side?

The Role: Education Reimagined
  • Farm-Based Curriculum: Deliver engaging, practical learning experiences using the farm, paddocks, workshops, and surrounding nature as your primary educational tools.
  • Hands-on & "Sneaky" Learning: Integrate core functional numeracy, literacy, science, and life skills naturally into real‑world tasks‑such as animal care, horticulture, carpentry, land maintenance, and practical rural projects.
  • Therapeutic Support: Work closely with small groups of young people who experience SEMH needs, neurodivergence (ASC, ADHD), trauma, or high anxiety.
  • De-escalation & Mentoring: Use positive, calm, trauma‑informed approaches to manage dysregulation, establishing clear and empathetic boundaries that help pupils feel safe and understood.
  • Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate with farm staff, pastoral support teams, and senior leadership to guide each pupil's emotional and academic progress.
Who We Are Looking For

Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for a breath of fresh air, or an inspiring instructor with real‑world practical skills, we want to hear from you:

Qualifications

QTS, QTLS, or Unqualified Teachers / Instructors with a background in SEN, outdoor education, agricultural learning, youth work, or vocational training.

  • Outdoor Resilience: You must love the outdoors and be ready to work across the farm in all weather conditions-mud, rain, or sunshine.
  • Patience & Empathy: A natural capacity to build rapport with vulnerable children who have struggled in mainstream schools.
  • Adaptability: The ability to think on your feet and adapt learning activities around daily life on the farm.
  • Safeguarding: An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to complete one immediately) and checkable professional references.
