Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a Family Time Worker to support families in staying connected when they cannot live together. You will be assigned a family, observe interactions, and provide guidance while ensuring child safety.

The role involves working with highly vulnerable children and maintaining professional boundaries during complex family situations. Flexibility is required for evenings and some weekends, with access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in working with children and families or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Help support families to spend quality time with each other
• Be allocated a family and remain within them for the duration of the session, observing and recording interactions and parenting, providing advice if requested and intervening only to ensure child safety
• Work with very vulnerable children and maintain professional relationships while managing complex family needs and behaviours
