Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Family Time Supervisor to support children in care. The role involves supervising contact sessions, documenting outcomes, and preparing reports for potential court use. You will work across two sites, Alton and Aldershot, with travel between locations.

The position requires a driving licence, flexibility for evenings and Saturdays, and a commitment to safeguarding and professional standards. Competitive LGPS benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children and families in need.
• Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding.
• Excellent IT, verbal communication, listening and observation skills.
• Ability to build relationships with children, carers and professionals.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and facilitate contact sessions in various settings, ensuring child safety and providing transport.
• Manage challenging situations, stopping contact when not in the child’s best interest.
• Prepare for and document contacts accurately within timescales and policy requirements.
• Build effective relationships with parents, social workers, foster carers, and children, with safeguarding awareness.
• Work with the team, attend meetings, training, and comply with Hampshire County Council policies.
