Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Family Time Supervisor to support children in care by supervising contact sessions, observing sessions, and preparing clear reports for potential court use.

The role requires building strong relationships with families, social workers and carers, maintaining accurate records, and travelling between Alton and Aldershot as needed. Flexibility for evenings, Saturdays and Fridays is required, with hybrid working options and a right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children and families in need.
• Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with children, carers and professionals.
• Capacity to handle challenging situations and work flexibly.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and facilitate contact sessions in various settings, ensuring child safety and providing transport.
• Manage challenging situations, stopping contact when not in child's best interest.
• Prepare for and document contacts within agreed timescales and policy requirements.
• Build effective relationships with parents, social workers, foster carers and children, with safeguarding reporting.
• Attend meetings, training, and comply with Hampshire County Council policies.
